About the role:

The Business Operations & Strategy Manager will be expected to perform a combination of day-to-day “in the trenches”  activities as well as execute high-level strategic analyses and program development. Some of the duties they will be expected to carry out include a varied selection of duties outlined in the responsibilities and duties provided.

Business Operations & Strategy Manager responsibilities:

  • Manage OEM relationships and Hardware Inventory
    • Execute Procurement of hardware including negotiation of pricing, logistics terms and warehousing 
    • Manage the Warehouse Vendors to ensure inventory is managed onsite effectively and pricing reflects all activities performed at the lowest possible cost
    • Manage Pricing and and ensure the Master SKU List is updated in a timely manner such that it is current and complete 
  • Develop and execute an Operations and Maintenance (O&M) program reflective of ChargeLab’s GTM strategy
    • O&M providers are vetted and their details are documented in a centralized location accessible to the Sales, CSMs and any other relevant teams
    • O&M providers coverage aligns with the locations and needs of customers 
    • Any contractual O&M coverage with customers is executed within SLAs
    • This includes creating a list of known and approved installers
  • Maintain and curate a list of government grants, Carbon credit and tax incentive programs our regional partners should be enrolled in
  • Own 3PL relationship, and negotiate for best pricing 
  • Negotiate and Manage the ChargeLab’s Connectivity 
    • Ensure there is adequate coverage for ALL customers
    • Deals have been negotiated with connectivity suppliers (Rogers, Holograms, Twilio, others) that maximize coverage and usages but minimize cost to ChargeLab
  • Forecast inventory needs so that ChargeLab can stay on top of inventory without overspending and partner with Engineering and Product teams to ensure inventory matches GTM strategy 
  • Work closely with the Customer Success Team and ensure partners, resellers, ELAs, and distributors are having success with hardware
  • Occasional travel required to meet with vendors and execution of Quarterly Business Reviews 
  • Work closely with Controller and CEO on the execution of analyses related to pricing, margin analysis, market sizing and a number of other strategy-related activities

Qualifications:

  • University degree (or equivalent)
  • Previous experience configuring hardware and software or willingness to learn
  • Experience in developing excel models 
  • Management of vendor relationships and strategic sourcing principles 
  • Passionate about our goal of building out EV Infrastructure for the world
  • Previous experiencing with EVs preferred 
  • Experience with procurement, business operations, supply chain and SAAS an asset
  • Consulting, Start-up and Tech experience an asset
  • MBA an asset
